When we create new customer intelligence, we start with data - massive quantities of all types of internal and external data about the customer that can be related to our chosen issue.  

The data are never in the right form to easily review or gain new insight so we must rely on the use of computer technology to aid us in this process.

Databases, statistical packages, CRM Systems, data warehouses, campaign management systems and business intelligence solutions are just some of the many tools and techniques that are used for successfully processing data.

What makes the CIAgenda® process different is the fact that these capabilities are used in a specific order and in very specific ways in a closed loop process to:

  • Identify what kind of customer intelligence – existing or new – is required to solve the targeted issue(s) and the optimal way of utilizing, executing and measuring to ensure that new intelligence actually supports the targeted issue.
  • Access relevant operational systems and external sources to gather all pertinent existing data.
  • Amend and validate the quality of the data so that they can be trusted and used.
  • Transform that data into forms that either create new insight directly or which can be used by other techniques.
  • Model and predict new fact-based insight that is valid and relevant to the identified issue.
  • Use the new intelligence appropriately.  This could take simple forms, such as delivering in the correct context for a particular group of users, automating the use of that new intelligence in direct marketing campaigns, or applying it during inbound communications and events.
  • Measure the impact of that intelligence on the bottom line, and use that understanding to continuously improve the effectiveness of created intelligence.

While many organizations may already have various tools and techniques in place to produce some aspects of customer intelligence, the “magic” only happens once the required capabilities are brought together into an efficient platform that can handle multiple customer intelligence tasks expeditiously and with minimal risk.
