What do 300 diverse organizations from various industries around the world have in common? They have all worked with Phil Winters, the father of Customer Intelligence, to open their organizations to the wonders of their own Customer Intelligence.

Combining the need for a mission in life with his fascination for people and technology, Phil’s infectious enthusiasm found a stronghold in the creation of the concept of Customer Intelligence and its practical application while with SAS’ International HQ in Heidelberg, Germany. There, he not only helped grow the “rest-of-world field office” into a $1 billion organization but more importantly, he collaborated with SAS, partners and customers to enable sales and marketing operations to generate consistent, progressive revenue improvement – based on insights gleaned from their own customer data.

Over the course of more than two decades, Phil’s career as employee “007” at SAS in IT, Sales & Operations, and as CMO has given him the diversity and the “I can relate” experience to work closely not only with world-class CEOs, but as the catalyst for CMOs, COOs and CIOs to continually develop their customer intelligence and refine his framework for executable strategy. 

Phil is well known by his clients for creating practical metrics for monitoring the implementation of sales/marketing direction on the ground – metrics that prove priceless for surfacing the value of those activities not only to the rest of the organization, but to the shareholders as well.
